These sculptures explore the tension between historical and cultural iconography through a recontextualization of materials and form. The clay casts, seemingly of classical or religious figures, pile upon one another, creating a visceral metaphor for the compression of history, tradition, and identity. The wooden cabinet—a structure reminiscent of domestic furniture—serves as a framework for containment, contrasting the free, dynamic postures of the figures within. This speaks to themes of preservation, entrapment, and the interplay between the sacred and mundane.
